What do you mean by ruby?

Why use rubies?
Rubies have some properties that make them perfect for use in both dry herb and dab applications. Firstly, they’re a (9) on the Mohs Hardness Scale which is right up at the top near diamonds (10). Additionally, the round shape of our ruby terp pearls ensures even airflow for ball vape applications while also enabling the rubies to roll around freely in your banger or eRig. When heated, they act just like glass in that they don’t provide any flavor of their own and instead let your terps shine through. By adding a couple rubies to your dab bowl, you increase the surface area inside the bowl while also introducing moving objects which help spread out your concentrates for even extraction.
What is the difference between the sizes?
Offering Ruby Terp Pearls from 3mm to 10mm you have no shortage of options when accessorizing your dab setup. Other than the obvious difference in diameter, we would also note that the larger rubies are heavier which impacts how they move around in your banger. The larger terp pearls also have significant surface area which helps spread your concentrates evenly in the banger for maximum efficiency. What are the limits?
While a great material, unfortunately rubies are not indestructible. Below are our top tips for keeping your rubies in great shape. We find that the gradual and even heating from ball vapes and eRigs simplifies the process, while if you’re using rubies inside a quartz banger you’ll have to pay more attention to temperatures to avoid damage.
- Avoid direct flame contact with the rubies. The rapid heating from torching the rubies directly can cause them to crack due to thermal shock. Instead, we recommend gently heating your rubies through a banger, or using them inside of an eRig or ball vape housing.
- Don’t expose hot rubies to liquid as the shock can cause them to crack. We recommend cleaning with a dry q-tip while warm and waiting until they fully cool if you want to use isopropyl alcohol or any other liquid cleaners. If you do clean the rubies, make sure they’re fully dry before heating again.
Can I dab off any other gemstones?
We’re so glad you asked! In fact there is another gemstone with almost identical properties to rubies; sapphire! We’re also introducing 3mm, 4mm, 5mm and 6mm sapphire terp pearls offering you endless customization options for your dabbing setup. While lab-grown sapphires have a bit of variability in their coloring, they retain the important 9 on the Mohs Hardness Scale meaning maximum durability.
