What is a dab rig?
Dab rigs are smaller glass pieces that incorporate water cooling for an efficient concentrate vaporization experience. Also referred to as oil rigs because you can vaporize oil through them, dab rigs are generally on the petite side and can usually fit in your hand. Available in standard glass connection sizes (10mm & 14mm), dab rigs are also great paired with dry herb vaporizers.
Are dab rigs hard to clean?
No! Because of their smaller size (and the lack of combustion) we find dab rigs easier to clean than your average bong. Here at Ritual Colorado we follow the steps below when cleaning out our mini rigs;
- Rinse with hot water. A hot water rinse removes any loose residue and also pre-heats the glass making your cleaners more effective in the next step.
- Fill with your cleaner of choice and shake. While we prefer 99% isopropyl alcohol, there are lots of great cleaners out there for getting rid of the stickiness from your concentrates. Fill your dab rig up with the cleaner, cover the openings and shake it around to free all the stuck on reclaim. Once everything is looking clean you can pour your cleaner back into a jar to be reused again.
- Rinse with water and your rig is ready to go. A thorough final rinse ensures you removed all of the cleaner and makes sure your fresh dab rig has the best possible flavor.
How much should I spend on a mini dab rig?
While high quality American dab rigs generally start at a couple hundred dollars, MJ Arsenal has lots of mini dab rig options available under $100.
